Happy International Crochet Day!!!
Shelly Scarf : I made 2 of these scarves, both gifts, and I'm working on a third for my grandmother. This pattern is so fun and quick, I would recommend it to anyone!
Pirate Puppet & co. : My brother is planning on making green screen movies and he is need of puppets. So, he has recruited me and a few others to make him some..Unfortunately, the, umm, pattern has vanished... So that is a minor set back, lol.
I've been testing patterns.
And also, a few other things...
Okay, on a side note........... the lunch lady DOESN'T like me... I have no idea why she wouldn't... She mutilates my pizza almost everyday, lol.
In honor of ICD, why don't you head over to the 'ville, and check out some stuff?
Ciao!

International Crochet Day Tomorrow!!
I have a lot to say, but first, I'm gonna leave a few spaces as a moment of silence in recognition of the men and women who died on this day, 6 years ago.
Okay, I have an important message for everyone! Tomorrow is NATIONAL CROCHET DAY! And Jimbo, you may have heard of him.... he creates wooden hooks. Well, he is having a contest in recognition of the wonderful day and guess what he's giving away?! A beautiful hook! Here's the link with all the information..http://www.jimbosfrontporch.blogspot.com/
I'll post again tomorrow and I'll post some stuff.............. Ciao!

Trick or Treat on the Beach!
Next, is a purse/bag that I tested for a lady over at the 'ville. It's called Trick or Treat and I can't wait to try it out this October!
Well, that's all I have for today, oh wait! I have something else! It's not my own picture, but one I found online......
How cute is that? I love that picture!
Okay, that's all I have this time. PFYL (post for you later) !

Comments, Questions, anyone? Anything?
On crochet topics, I got RAOK'ed again!! Yay! A really nice lady from the 'ville sent me one point five skeins of wool!! And it's so pretty! I suppose you could say that I got RAOK'ed two more times, because my mom has surprised me with different skeins of cotton yarn this week. I never realized that Suger&Cream and Peaches&Cream were two different brands. *duh, smack forehead* lol, leave it to me to figure that out after 6 months. lol. OH YEAH..... I just remembered that I got RAOK'ed another time, as my ornament swap partner sent me a virtual postcard from Ohio. Wow, I am definitely luck, aren't I? :D
OooooooHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is now available!!!!!! Yaaaaaaayyyyyy! I can't wait 'til we get our copy! My brother found this video online of J.K. Rowling reading the first chapter of the seventh installment last night at a party in London or somewhere around there. I am now craving to read the rest! lol
Before I go, I also wanted to ask a small favor of my readers (if there are any, lol) if you could leave me a comment. I would like to hear more from my readers (again, if you are even out there, lol).
Maybe one thing you could put in that comment you will so nicely have written (lol, if there's anyone to have nicely written a comment, lol) is what you would expect a mer-city's name to be. I know it's an odd request, however, I am writing a story concerning a mer-city but I can't figure out what to call the city.
Well, ahoj! (That's supposed to be good-bye in Czech, but I don't know how to pronounce it. :P)

Guess What??
On crochet topics, I finished my filet bookmark and I believe it's quite obvious that it's my first piece, as it gets smaller and better-looking at the top and is wide and loose at the bottom. All in all it came out pretty nice I must say, but I don't have any pictures because I gave it to my ASIL so she could see it. (In case you are wondering, ASIL is my own creation and it means Almost Sister-In-Law.) I've gotten a bit farther into the body of my 'In Bloom' purse. I am really excited to see how it comes out! I've also started my ornaments for the Crochetville Summer Ornament Exchange. My partner and I have exchanged a few emails and I'm lucky to have such a nice partner!
Speaking of Crochetville, I have been ROAK'ed three times! ROAK stands for Random Act Of Kindness and it's so nice to receive surprises that you've wished for in the mail! The first time, I got a really nice blue variegated thread bookmark which I really appreciated as I read a lot. The second time, I got a postcard from Texas, I collect postcards and I didn't have any not from the East Coast (except for one from London). The third time, corresponded with my Holidays in July wishlist, and it was an ecard that was Happy Bunny! Thank you to my FGMs (Fairy Godmothers)!!
That's it for today! A tout a l'heure!

Something To Smile At

Long time, no post!
On crochet topics, I've been working different projects. I tested a slinky dog for a lady on the 'ville. I dubbed him Marty, The Dog With Backwards Legs. LOL! Really, I accidently turned his head around when I was sewing on the legs or maybe it was vice-versa, hmmmmm. I don't remember. Oh, well. Here is a pic of Marty, T.D.W.B.L.
I'm also working on a purse called "In Bloom" from the Happy Hooker book. I'm doing it in a variegated purple and the whole tough part is doing tons of rows of just half-double crochet. :( I'm also trying out size 10 thread for the first time. Its really fun to work with and I'm also trying out filet crochet at the same time. I'm doing a heart filet bookmark that I found on crochetpatterncentral.com . Unfortunately, I started with the wrong size hook, so it's coming out a bit bigger than a bookmark should be, but it's still pretty. :D
On a funny note, we went to visit Captain Hook yesterday and we all took turns holding Baby Green. Well, I was holding Baby Green for the last time that day and he decided to empty his little bladder all over the front of me. I was like, "Mom? Mom, he's leaking!" It was funny, although I didn't realize that 'til after I had changed. It practically covered the whole front of my track sweatshirt and went through a little bit to my t-shirt. So Captain Hook got a Stewy (from Family Guy) shirt for me to wear home. It was like a badge of honor. LOL.
Speaking of track, at the end of the season, Coach Kevin said that I'll be one of the best hurdlers returning! Yay me!
Now, that you have read my most recent novel, I will go and experience my next! Ciao!

Here I am!!
My track team had our state meet (Championship) and we came in fifth! FIFTH! Out of eight! I couldn't believe it! Atleast, well, it's better than 6th, 7th (which was our place last year), and 8th. Today, the coach said that next year, I'll be one of the best hurdlers returning. Yay!!
On Thursday, I am going to two pizza parties! One is for participating in a Typing Challenge and the other is for the track team. Then, on Friday, the school band is having a par-...I mean, a "get together". Hee-hee. ( We're not supposed to have parties at school. So, they're, "get togethers".) And on Friday afternoon, I'm going bowling! Bowling is so much fun!
Before I leave, I want to post this link. If you click here, you can get....... your very own silly name! Mine is Dinky TowelBuns!! lol!

Latest Happenings!
I also have made a few dishcloths, two diamond shaped ones, two star shaped ones, and a heart shaped one for my grandmother for Mother's Day.
Have you ever visited http://www.meez.com ? It is such a fun website! You create an avatar or whatever you want it to be, and there's so much clothes, you'll never want to wear the same thing twice! If you want, you can create a free account and save your Meez to Photobucket or whatever. It's for guys and girls.
Well, that's all this post can hold! Until next post, au revoir!

Sock Progress
It's my first "wearable". Okay, it's a sock but you still "wear" it. :P Here's the link for the sock pattern: http://www.crochetme.com/ultimate-crocheted-socks
I'm making these socks as part of a CAL (Crochet Along) at Crochetville.
The Wonderful Art of Crocheting
First up is a little bird named Oscar. I made him for my sister and named him after a funny story I made up for him. Here's the link for his pattern: http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2007/02/ Isn't he cute? I'll have to share the story some day...
Next up is a baby blanket that I made for my soon-to-be-born nephew. It is a basic, over-sized Granny Square and the blue yarn is a plush.
It is very soft and it drapes so well! There is a shell border; two blue plush sides and two white sides. Now, here is a bunch of Cupcake Critters. I made 4 pigs in total (one isn't shown), 2 bears (2 more are on the way), and a monkey (not shown). Here's the link to the pattern: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46825&highlight=cupcake+critters
I loved making those little critters! Thanks KristieMN!
And, then, here is my own creation, a summer outfit for my Marley Wentworth doll.
A nice reminder to all of us experiencing bad weather, that summer will come!
Oh, and we can't forget this little fairy! My mom and I tested the pattern for a lady from Crochetville named KristieMN (see cupcake critters).
Isn't she sweet? Her given name is Mary Melody, but I wanted to change it. Any suggestions?
Well, those are my most recent projects! I'm also working on a Tetris-inspired Afghan, lavender socks, a cookie purse, star-shaped dishcloths, and a few other things.
Au revoir!

My First Post(Obviously)
Okay, now, since everyone knows that this is my first blog post, and that, yes, it is pretty neat that you can create a blog and that people will actually read about your life, l want to tell you a little about me and what this blog is all about.
My name is Joy and I love to crochet. I'm also opinionated, so I'll talk alot on here (don't forget your pillows!). I do a lot of things, such as crocheting, running track( I do hurdles), read, and using computers.
I've only been crocheting since January of this year and I like to think of myself as an adginner; an advanced beginner. My mom tried teaching me but that didin't work out well, so I learned from a book. I've made a bunch of stuff so far, I'll post pics later.
Well, until tomorrow, bye!
